Amusement parks are a big lure when it comes to Orlando between Disney and Universal there is hardly any time to do anything else while you are visiting. Both of these parks are always adding new rides or theme areas. Universal has Harry Potter’s world which will delight everyone in the family. Feel like a kid again at one of Disney’s four parks. Meet and greet with characters, enjoy rides and shows, enjoy a meal while characters walk around and greet you.
Discovery Cove is a great place to visit where you can swim with the dolphins. They also have a new Freshwater Oasis where you can have a wading adventure. You will have up close encounters with otters and marmosets.
Cool off at one of Orlando’s great water parks. New in 2017 is Universals volcano bay you can relax on the lazy river or take a thrilling ride on Krakatau with your family in a four-person canoe. If you really want to cool off head to Rock Spring’s Run at Kelly Spring, 35 minutes outside of Orlando in Apopka. Make sure to get there early as they limit the number of visitors per day.
If you simply want to escape the hustle and bustle of Orlando for a day head to the Kennedy space center which is only an hour trip. If you plan on visiting here make sure to arrive early to avoid lines and get good parking. Eat lunch at 11am or 2pm to avoid the crowds; you can also bring your own lunch in a soft-sided cooler. Be prepared to keep little ones entertained in lines for security or the bus tour. Buy your tickets in advance online to save time. The space center is organized in mission zones. This allows you to make your way through the U.S. Space Program in chronological order.
